What Is Voltage?

Voltage is the force that pushes electricity through a circuit, like water pressure pushing water through a hose.

  • Unit: Measured in volts (V).
  • Example: A wall outlet provides voltage to drive electricity into your phone charger.

What Is Current?

Current is the flow of electricity through a wire, like water flowing through the hose.

  • Unit: Measured in amperes (A) or amps.
  • Example: A lamp with a higher current gets more electricity to make its bulb shine brightly.

What Is Resistance?

Resistance measures how much something slows down the flow of electricity, like a kink in the hose that makes water flow slower.

  • Unit: Measured in ohms (Ω).
  • Example: A light bulb’s resistance controls how much current flows through it and how bright it gets.

How Do They Work Together?

Imagine a flashlight:
